Settings
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Settings is split into four tabs: Licence, Preferences, Help & Support and About. Most of what you’ll touch day to day lives under Preferences.
Preferences
Section titled “Preferences”Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- Theme: choose a visual theme, each with its own colour palette and typography. Pick Light, Dark or System. Your choice is saved between sessions.
- Colourblind Mode: adjusts the status colours (success, warning, error) for different types of colour vision deficiency.
- Font Size: Small, Default, Large or Extra Large. Changes apply to all text straight away.
Audio & Input
Section titled “Audio & Input”- Output Device: the audio device used for sample preview and playback.
- Keyboard Layout: sets the labels on the on-screen keyboard. The keys always work by physical position.
- Note Naming: sets which octave number middle C (MIDI 60) shows as, everywhere note names appear.
Storage
Section titled “Storage”- Cache: how many samples from your EP are cached on this computer. Sync Now refreshes the cache and Clear Cache empties it.
- Library Storage: Rescan recovers projects, packs and backups whose library entries were lost.
- Space for Recent Splits: how much space the Stem Splitter may use to keep recent splits. When they use more, the oldest go first. Clear Recent Splits deletes them and tells you how much space it freed. Stems you saved to your library stay.
- Remind Me to Back Up My Device: a gentle reminder when a connected EP has no backup or the last one is over a month old.
Privacy & Updates
Section titled “Privacy & Updates”- Help Make EP-PatchStudio Better: share which features you use, your country and error reports, with a random install ID that isn’t linked to your name or email. It’s off until you turn it on. The privacy policy has the details.
- Get Update Emails: enter your email address to hear when there’s a new version, plus occasional news.
Insights and Guided Tours
Section titled “Insights and Guided Tours”- Clear Insights History: clears the local event log behind Insights. Your Project Library stays as it is.
- Guided Tours: replay a short walkthrough of any main tool, or choose Reset All Tours so they’re offered again.
Licence
Section titled “Licence”The Licence tab is where you activate and manage your Pro licence. The free tier and the Pro trial don’t need anything here. If you bought Pro on the website, enter your licence key on this tab. A purchase in the App Store or Google Play unlocks Pro through your store account, with no key. Licence and Pro covers the trial, buying Pro and entering your key on a computer, phone or tablet.
Help & support
Section titled “Help & support”Quick links to documentation and ways to get in touch if something isn’t working or you’ve got a question.
Version information and credits, plus an update check on the desktop app. Handy when you’re reporting a problem and need to say which version you’re on.
